Unfortunately, the 3DS was a system on life support before its eventual discontinuation in 2020, and many stores were eschewing space for its games for more Switch titles. I was curious about the game, as I wanted to experiment with the Mii creation tools and make an already silly adventure even sillier. Nintendo was no stranger to releasing games near the end of a system's lifespan (in fact, the last 3DS title released by them was a remake of Kirby's first Wii game), but Miitopia in particular felt like it was particularly shafted. Sadly, the game failed to gain the audience it deserved, being overshadowed by first-year Switch heavy-hitters like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey.
